The Rev Joanne Hood was a direct entry to the Ministry having entered the University of Glasgow straight from secondary school, where she graduated with an MA in 1999.
She then graduated with a BD from the
University of St Andrews in 2002, and has trained in the diverse areas of Fife, Castlemilk and Edinburgh.
Her first charge, where she was based, was Broughton St Mary’s; an inner city Parish with a transient population.
When she arrived the church was on a renewable tenure and was a dwindling congregation.
Through growth in the congregation and exciting development projects, Presbytery has now lifted restriction on its tenure.
She has developed innovative worship and community outreach, while embedding worship within a traditional context. She is heavily involved in school chaplaincy to both pupils and staff.
